Abstract

• Hollow Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 P 2 /carbon were synthesized from metal organic framework microspheres. • The ratio of Ni/Co can be regulated in Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 P 2 /carbon composite. • The Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 P 2 /carbon composite exhibits excellent electrochemical performances. Nano-metal phosphides/carbon microspheres, Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 P 2 /carbon (NCP@C), with unique hollow structure were synthesized by solvothermal reaction and phosphorization treatment. When used as anode material for Li-ion batteries, NCP@C composites exhibit high reversible specific capacity (1370 mAh g −1 at 0.1 C), good rate performance and excellent cycling stability (826 and 703 mAh g −1 after 300 cycles at 0.2 and 0.5 C, respectively).
