Abstract

Aim: Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) have increased risk of early cardiovascular disease and require intensive hypolipidemic treatment with statins and ezetimibe. Statin therapy is associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim of this analysis was the evaluation of glycemic profile, as well as of the risk of T2DM in subjects with FH in Greece.
