Abstract
The riverbank erosion is among the most dynamic processes of the landscape, resulting from the ratio of hydrodynamic characteristics added to the margin characteristics, involving riverbank’s physical and morphometric aspects, where the key aspects of erosion rates are directly influenced by land use in the vicinity channel. The importance of understanding the hydrological phenomena, by contacting the dynamics and interaction between the elements that make up the erosion of margins in the Pantanal. So, this study aimed to characterize the erosion of the riverbanks of the Miranda in the Pantanal, microregion of Abobral. Physical and morphometric analyzes of banks were performed in riverbanks material loss in the region from October / 2014 to October / 2015. The results of the analysis showed average retreat in margins of 50,66cm and loss 496,64kg/m 2 ground, corresponding to the estimated loss of approximately 12 ton along the banks, identifying the role of the corrasion process in the margins of the region.
