Abstract
In classic analysis of capture effect, well-known expressions exist for the capture probabilities in the uplink of multiple-access wireless networks in Rayleigh fading channels. In this paper, we derive new analytical expressions for the average capture probabilities and PDFs of SIR in generalized (Nakagami-m) fading channels (capture model 1). The capture model 2 relates the capture effect with the receiver's BER performance and produces more realistic results for the capture probability in Nakagami-m channels.
