Abstract
Abstract The method of testing moderate-vacuum pumps described in this paper has a number of advantages. A nozzle is used in which the downstream or back pressure is higher than the critical. This permits the determination of several values of volumetric efficiency over a range of vacua without changing the nozzle. The method of plotting of results described by the author is a graphic proof of the accuracy of the theory of the nozzle and permits ready estimation of approximate performance of a given pump.
