Capacity smoothing and sequencing for mixed-model lines

Abstract

This paper deals with production planning problems of mixed-model lines. In particular sequencing aspects will be discussed. Some instruments which improve sequencing criteria will be described and compared to each other. These instruments act on different planning levels and touch different time frames. Therefore, we will also have a look at their combined usage within a hierarchically structured planning process.
