Abstract

Summary Immunization of dogs with dinitrophenyl-bovine serum albumin or dinitrophenyl-bovine γ-globulin resulted in the production of nonprecipitating antibodies against the dinitrophenyl determinant. The hapten binding capacities of the nonprecipitating antisera were comparable to those of precipitating rabbit antisera against the dinitrophenyl determinant. The nonprecipitating antibodies were demonstrated by double antibody coprecipitation techniques and the alteration of the electrophoretic migration of dinitrophenyl albumin in combination with antibody.
