Abstract
Abstract In this article, we are analyzing an influence of various factors on the contents, structure and organization of the contemporary innovation process. The main hypothesis assumes that the contemporary innovation more and more often comes as a result of a quite loose set of dispersed processes and not of a put-in-order, several-phase innovation process. The article starts with a literature survey followed by four empirical illustrations. On the basis of this, the multi-process model of technological innovation is presented. Afterwards, we identify implications for practice, especially the main challenges to be faced by innovation managers in industrial firms.

Cette étude analyse l’influence de divers facteurs sur le contenu, la structure et l’organisation du processus d’innovation contemporaine. L’hypothèse principale avance que l’innovation contemporaine résulte de plus en plus d’un ensemble assez souple de processus dispersés et non d’un processus d’innovation ordonné en plusieurs phases. Le modèle multi-processus de l’innovation technologique est présenté. Les implications sont identifiées pour la pratique, en particulier les principaux défis auxquels doivent faire face les responsables de l’innovation dans les entreprises industrielles. Estamos analisando a influência de vários fatores no conteúdo, estrutura e organização do processo de inovação contemporâneo. O artigo começa com um levantamento bibliográfico seguido de quatro ilustrações empíricas. É apresentado o modelo multiprocesso de inovação tecnológica. Posteriormente, identificamos implicações para a prática, especialmente os principais desafios a serem enfrentados pelos gestores de inovação em empresas industriais.
