Abstract

Leaves of tea cultivars are markedly different in leaf geometry, with leaf angle varying from erect through semi—erect to horizontal; a particular cultivar has only one type of leaf. Defoliators and leaf chewers feed mostly on horizontal leaves. Leaf rollers and miners colonize only semi—erect leaves. Sap feeders inhabit all three types of leaves, with the largest species accumulation on erect leaves.
