Abstract

By law, Corporate houses are now bound to contribute certain percentage of their profits for welfare of society through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Challenges such as poverty, hunger and illiteracy, though apparently seem out of corporate responsibility's domain, but they can be mitigated to an extent by CSR. Corporates have social, moral, ethical and economic responsibility towards society. The paper exemplifies prominent case studies to elaborates the role, corporate sector is playing in contributing to control hunger and malnutrition in India.
