Abstract

In this paper, calibration factor (CF) pattern is proposed for simulation and calibration of electric field (E-field) probes to obtain isotropy and CF simultaneously. Two E-field probes with different isotropy level, constructed of three-axis dipoles or patches, are simulated to illustrate how the CF pattern depict isotropy of the probes. By comparing simulation results of the two probes, it is suggested that the CF patterns could illustrate isotropy of the probes well, and CF could be obtained simultaneously. Moreover, the results reveal that isotropy of the E-field probe should be comprehensively investigated by measuring CF patterns on different planes especially when the E-field probes are of different configurations.
