Abstract

AbstractA ground penetrating radar system (GPR) was tested in two soils to determine the accuracy of GPR measurements and to demonstrate a simple technique to calibrate the instrument. The GPR was used to identify a buried auger in a relatively dry loamy‐skeletal and a relatively moist fine‐silty soil. Radar measurements, on the average, were within 3 cm of the actual depths measured in adjacent soil pits.
