Abstract
A close-coupling method with atomic orbital expansion is applied to calculate the two-photon detachment cross sections of the positronium negative ion within the perturbation theory. The cross sections are approximately six times larger than those of H− at small photoelectron energies. The cross sections in the resonance region below the Ps(n = 2) threshold are presented.
