Abstract

A method is developed for the calculation of the components of the vector (or ‘cross') product in spaces of arbitrary finite dimension, r >1. The method is shown to coincide with the well‐known computational procedures used in three‐dimensional classical mechanics in the special circumstances to which these latter procedures apply. The generalization given here illuminates many aspects of these classical procedures.
