Calculation of leakage areas and leak rates for wall penetrating cracks in pipes loaded with internal pressure and bending moment

In this paper calculations on the leak opening and leak rates of piping components with through cracks are presented. Mostly the analyses are post-calculations to experiments in order to verify the models used in the calculations. The experiments under consideration were performed at MPA-Stuttgart, Siemens-KWU and at the HDR-facility, located in Karlstein/Germany. Straight pipes, pipe bends and branches with different crack locations were considered. As far as possible numerical and experimental results are compared.
