Calculation of cross sections for vibrational excitation and de-excitation of CO2by electronic collisions

Abstract

Total cross sections for resonance vibrational excitation and de-excitation of CO2 in its ground electronic state in the electron energy range 2.2-5.6 eV have been calculated. The calculations were made in the symmetric-stretch channels only using Herzenberg's boomerang model (1968).
