Abstract

In this paper, a new calculation method of adaptive weight for space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is proposed by using the pulse order-based inverse covariance matrix recursion. The proposed method can reduce much more computational complexity than the conventional STAP method, which is difficult to be implemented in practical system since the intense computational complexity is needed to calculate the inversion of space-time covariance matrix directly. The simulation results show that the computational complexity of proposed method is reduced to more than 50% by compared with the sample matrix inversion (SMI) based STAP method for the same clutter suppression performance. Therefore, the proposed method is more suitable for the practical system because of small computational complexity and stable clutter suppression performance. (5 pages)
