Abstract

The clutter subspace leakage phenomena in Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) method results in expending the clutter ridge and increasing the effective rank of interference so that more sample supports are required. Therefore, a modified STAP method by combining the sub-Coherent Processing Interval (CPI) STAP method and the covariance matrix taper (CMT) method is proposed to deal with the subspace leakage in this paper. The proposed method can give better performance and robustness comparing with the traditional sub-CPI STAP method using the same sample supports. The availability of the proposed method is demonstrated by the simulations.
