Abstract

Traditional metasurface cloaking mainly focuses on carpet-like reflective cloaking, while reflective illusionary cloaking remains a challenge. This paper proposes a method to achieve stealth or simulate other virtual objects by pre-designing the electromagnetic shape of virtual objects. We simulated three kinds of carpet-like illusionary virtual objects through metasurface phase regulation. At 8 GHz, simulations are carried out, and it is verified by experiments that the cloak has good stealth performance when the incident wave is between 0° and 15°. The technique can also be extended to the visible and terahertz domains.
