Abstract
In studing the relationship of CaCOj, and nitrogen, different rates of nitrogen as ammoninm chloride (0; 1; 5; 20; 50; 100; 200 and 1000 ppm) was applied to acid Rize soil; neutral or very slighty-Siverek soil and calcareous Aiigor soil; which were limmed with different rates of CaC03 (0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2; 3; 4; 5 and 10 percent). Tomatoe plant was grown in growth chamber for 65 days in case of acid and neutral soil and 87 days for calcareous soil ' On acd soil; effect of nitrogen rates (0; 1; 5; 20; 50; 100; 200 and 500 ppm N) on dry matter yield was 100; 1 IS; 130; 185; 174; 137; 94 on-d 97 % respectively. On acid soil effect of CaCO* rates (0; 0.5*1.0; 1,5; 2; 3; 4; and 5%> on dry matter yield was 100; 210; 454; 379; 270; 208; 196 and 220 % respectielvy. On neutral or very sligthy alkali soil, effect of nitrogen rates (0; 1; 5; 20; 50; 10; 200 and 500) on dry matter yield was 100; 149; 177; 197, 200; 183; 116 and 79 %, where as the effect of limming rates (0; 0 5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0; 3.0; 4,0; 5:0 and 10 w) on dry matter yield was 100; 123: 130; 111; 46; 50; 79; 127 and 107 % respectielvy. On alkali soil; the effect of nitrogen rates (0; 1; 5; 20; 50; 100 and 200 ppm N) on dry matter yield was 100; 110; 120; 126; 149; 133 and 133 %; where as the effect of limming rates (0; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0 and 5.0 %) was 100, 110; 115; 123; 91 and 77 % respectively. Average dry matter yield at 50 ppm N was 74 % on acid soil, 100 % on neutral soil and 49 % on calcareous soil, when compared with thoir control. Dry matter yield with the average of all N rates was 25.2 mg/pot on acid soil, 52.1 mg/pot on neutral soil and 924.0 mg/pot cal¬careous soil. Limming upto 1.0 % was effective on'acid {454 %), and neutral soil Keywords
