Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has become a crucial foundation in advancing businesses, particularly for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs). However, entrepreneurs often face significant challenges in adapting to and mastering digital technology skills. This paper will investigate the main challenges faced by entrepreneurs in mastering digital technology skills, especially in rural contexts. Issues such as low application of technology in rural areas, lack of knowledge in digital marketing, and simplicity in the use of digital technology in branding and administration will be given special emphasis. Additionally, infrastructure barriers, strict regulations and supervision, access to financing, and the lack of digital skills in the workforce are also discussed. This paper also examines the deterioration of infrastructure, weaknesses in communication systems, and the lack of progress in the ICT sector. Broadband infrastructure and services in rural areas are also discussed, touching on aspects of stability and efficiency. In terms of financial factors, high costs, especially in expenditure to upgrade information systems, pose a significant challenge. Socially, society's readiness to accept technology and the low level of ICT knowledge among entrepreneurs are focal points. Ultimately, this paper outlines the need for holistic and integrated development strategies to enhance understanding and mastery of digital technology among entrepreneurs, particularly in rural areas.
