Abstract

The Adoption of Amendments of the Limitation Amounts in the Protocol of 1992 to amend the 1969 International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage was approved by Law 6346 and published in the Resmi Gazete on 10 October. In addition, the Adoption of Amendments of the Limits of Compensation in the 1992 Protocol to amend the 1971 International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage was also approved with the same law and published in the Resmi Gazete on 21 October. Turkey continued to ratify some conventions with regard to nuclear issues, partly as a consequence of signing an agreement with the government of the Russian Federation in relation to the construction and operation of the first nuclear power plant at the Akkuyu site.
