Abstract

In the high school math curriculum of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), the equation, inequation, set of equations, set of inequations occupy a fairly large density. The teaching and learning of this topic, in addition to continuing to develop knowledge at the lower secondary level, is necessary to equip students with competencies and ethical qualities. This paper focuses on studying and analyzing the characteristics of the equation, inequation, set of equations, set of inequation in grade 10 and 11 textbooks according to the components in teaching and learning (application component, academic component, and Interdisciplinary component) and in different forms and solutions to be the foundation for effective teaching of this topic in the Lao PDR. Through research and analysis, we clarify the ingredients that have been focused on and those that have not been given proper attention in the equations and inequations of grade 10 and grade 11 textbooks in the Lao PDR.
