Abstract

The professionals who work in the companies need to be competent and motivated, in the performance of their activities and, for that, the area of people management is of vital importance, even strategic in the decision-making process of the administrators, focused on the preservation and increase of efficiency. In order to assist entities in achieving their goals before the market, there is a certain willingness to adopt revolutionary technological devices in the organizational routine. This provision makes the employees’ daily action available through their own devices, called Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), that is, 'bring your own device'. According to this concept, there is a practical effect directly on the organization's numbers, especially in the organization's climate, although it still brings certain barriers to data security. When considering this panorama, the following research problem can be highlighted: what would be the benefits and negative points to the security of organizational data when adopting the BYOD concept? Regarding the general objective, it is assumed to ascertain the most important attributes pertaining to the security of companies' data, emphasizing the BYOD idea. Regarding secondary objectives, it was decided to: investigate meanings about technological innovations; investigate marketing issues of technological innovations; evaluate the positive and negative points associated with the use of the BYOD method with regard to the security of organizational data. As for the methodology adopted in the present work, the Narrative Bibliographic Review or Literature Review was adopted.
