Abstract

The analysis of the antecedents or determinant factors of the adoption of business analytics (BA) is an important research topic. Drawing on the arguments of the resource based view and dynamic capabilities view, this paper proposes a research model that examines the effects of the BA adoption on business process performance and the mediating role that business process performance plays in the relationship between the adoption of BA and firm performance. Based on a sample of 204 Turkish firms operating in a wide variety of industries, our results indicate that the adoption of BA positively influences business process performance. There is also positive relationship between business process performance and firm performance. Finally, the results show that business process performance fully mediates the relationship between BA adoption and firm performance.
