Abstract

In this paper, a new bushing model for vehicle dynamic analysis is proposed. Bushing components of a vehicle suspension system are tested to capture the nonlinear and hysteretic behavior of typical rubber bushing elements and the test results are used to develop bushing model using Bouc-Wen hysteretic model. ADAMS program is used to generate the Bouc-Wen hysteretic bushing model. The parameter identification through the sine excitation input is carried out in the time-domain. VisualDOC program is employed to find the optimal coefficients of the model. A numerical example is suggested to verify the performance of the proposed model.
