Abstract
Such of contemporary philosophy can be seen as a series of attempts to get rid of the influence of metaphysical dualisms, such as between essence and accident, property and substance, appearance and reality that Western thought inherited from the Greeks. Administration sociology, economics psychoanalysis all areas of social thought were more or less affected by this demarche. Theirs is perhaps the anthropology that will feel the greatest impact of these developments, since social science is more engaged with the study of language.
