Abstract
This article discusses the development of water resources in the Colorado River Basin by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The article discusses projects such as the construction of Hoover Dam, the 1948 Upper Colorado River Basin Compact, four storage units authorized by the Colorado River Storage Project (Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River in Arizona and Utah, the Flaming Gorge Dam on the Green River in Utah and Wyoming, the Navajo Dam on the San Juan River in New Mexico and Colorado, and the multiple‐dam Curecanti unit on the Gunnison River in Colorado), and the Central Utah diversion project.
