Abstract
Bulk sensitive angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) study was performed to probe the three-dimensional bulk Fermi surfaces of CeRu 2 Ge 2 in the paramagnetic phase, which is not accessible by the de Haas–van Alphen (dHvA) studies. Since Ce 4f electrons of CeRu 2 Ge 2 are thought to be localized, we compared the observed Fermi surfaces with the band-structure calculation of 4f electron localized model LaRu 2 Ge 2 . The observed electronic states are slightly different from both the band calculation for LaRu 2 Ge 2 and dHvA measurement for CeRu 2 Ge 2 in the ferromagnetic phase. Magnetic interaction and Ce 4f hybridization should be considered to fully understand the differences in electronic structures.
