Abstract

The author presents an argument which states that to produce successful managers in today's society, Britain needs to broaden its education to include management training alongside training in engineering etc. In other words, if you want to be a manager in the future you need a good broad-based schooling with Arts and Sciences, with built-in economics, communication skills etc. in engineering degrees so that once you get to the job you are in a position both to interact with people, and to introduce and adapt to change via a formal management training programme. >
