Abstract

To accommodate the variation in business and technological changes, the organizational information system (IS) needs to be flexible. Though the importance of flexibility in IS is realized by many studies, the process of building flexibility in IS is not yet well understood. This paper addresses this issue of building flexibility in IS. For this purpose, situation-actor-process and learning-action-performance (SAP–LAP) framework was followed for evolving a conceptual model for building flexibility. As an application of the model, a case study from Denture industry was given in the SAP–LAP framework.
