Abstract

The need for energy saving and reduction of personnel costs have introduced microprocessors in building automation systems for remote local data processing. Central software concentrates on easy operator's dialogue and presents processed and condensed plant information.Intelligent substations distributed in large building complexes transmit merely plant changes to the central station. The central station only initiates time & event depending control sequences, which are executed by the substations.Special measurement and pre-processing in the substations to obtain real electric power and effective values of current and voltage (sinoid and non-sinoid) allows in combination with central energy saving programs improved control of the distribution for high + low tension.Equipment, programs (energy programs in detail) and results are explained in general and by an applied example of the new Changi Airport in Singapore.
