Abstract

This paper presents the implementation of co-design reconfigurable system for data processing. Communication between users and the system is based on Ethernet that allows remote accesses from multiple users, also sharing the reconfigurable hardware to save cost. In a complex system, computational intensive functions can be moved to reconfigurable hardware and accelerate the processing time of the system. Input data can be sent through webpage and remotely processed. In the experiments, a simple edge detector for image processing is implemented in both software and hardware for comparison. The results show that, only a few percent of resources sacrificed for hardware processing elements, the system processing time is two-hundredfold improvement.
