Abstract

Nowadays, big data, whose characteristics are in terms of four V’s, i.e., volume, variety, velocity and veracity, has become a hot spot in many fields. Spectrum Data also present the characteristics of big data with the increasing of mobile phone subscribers and radio frequency identification. One of significant properties in Variety is that big data, which come from various sources, are heterogeneous. In order to solve this problem, the first step is to structure heterogeneous data. The ontology provides an effective method to realize the structuring. In this article, we start with the introduction of four characteristics of big spectrum data, and then expound the motivation of our work. Next we make a summary of the ontology theory. At last, a ontology model is constructed to complete the first step mentioned above and we reveal a specific implement in some cases of spectrum data so as to illustrate the compatibility of normal spectrum data and the expansibility of big spectrum data.
