Abstract

The buckling analysis of the composite laminated plates with various diamond cut-out parameters has been studied using finite element analysis. Parameters such as the orientation, effect of size, positions of the diamond cut-out, and ply orientations are evaluated. Results are compared to previously published research and demonstrate strong agreement with the current findings. The results show that the buckling load decreases with increase in cut-out size ratio. The dimensions of the cut-out play a vital role in determining the buckling effects, as mass of the plate reduces. Additionally, steady growth is observed for ply-orientations ([(0/90)2]s, [(15/-75)2]s, [(30/-60)2]s and [(45/-45)2]s) with increase in mode numbers.
