Abstract
concrete are made without ordinary portland cement (OPC) and without aluminous cement. Metallurgical slag, coal fly ash, coal bottom ash, beta kaolin, and other silico-aluminates are activated with sodium, potassium hydroxide or silicate. More recently concrete are made without ordinary Portland cement or aluminous cement by activation of limestone and silica minerals using sodium hydroxyde. The concrete which has been obtained owns encouraging performances in the field of CO2 reduction's emission, strength development, protection of steel reinforcing bars, fire resistance and acid resistance.
