Abstract
The true language of most international scientific conferences (see Physics Bulletin January 1977 p7) is not English but Broken English. As Dr Hird points out (Physics Bulletin May 1977 p199) this language excludes 'all words which are not in common English speech apart, of course, from technical words with exact translations'.
