Abstract

A novel broadband MIMO antenna has been proposed in this paper. The proposed design consists of eight elements in the MIMO configuration. Roger 5880 having a thickness of 0.8mm has been used as a substrate. Each element of the proposed MIMO antenna consists of radiating part and ground plane. An elliptical-shaped patch is excited by a 50 Ω line via the proximity feed technique. The broadband of more than 20 GHz is observed by using elliptical shape slots in the ground plane. Microstrip feedline is turned into cross-shaped to improve the antenna impedance matching bandwidth as shown in the accomplished results. This antenna compromises small size, relatively high gain, and better impedance bandwidth at all operating frequencies.
