Abstract
The infrared spectra of H-forms of Y zeolite made from the guanidine and ammonium forms were compared. The Bronsted acid sites have been characterized by adsorption of pyridine. Good correlation between the concentration of Bronsted acid sites and the catalytic activity of the samples has been found. It was concluded that guanidine cations limited localization of OH groups on the surface of the supercages.
