Abstract

The Oxford Conference on Computing in High Energy Physics approached the physics and computing issues with the question, “Can computer science help?” always in mind. This summary is a personal recollection of what I considered to be the highlights of the conference: the parts which contributed to my own learning experience. It can be used as a general introduction to the following papers, or as a brief overview of the current states of computer science within high energy physics.
