Abstract

Airworthiness Directive (AD) will be issued by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) when an unsafe condition exists in the product and the condition is likely to exist or develop in other products of the same type design. AD includes required mandatory actions or service limit for the products. No person may operator a civil aviation product until all the requirements of the applicable AD have been accomplished. CAAC issued its first AD in the year of 1988. CAAC has released relative regulation and procedure to issue and manage AD, which ensures the Chinese fleet to operate safely and provides technology support to China-made aircrafts operated outside China. With the deepening and spread of understanding of airworthiness in China, CAAC will keep on pushing the AD management work forward. The foreign AD database and China AD database will be unified. CAAC will pay more attentions to issue ADs for domestic products and foreign products operated in China by its own.
