Abstract

The demand for trustworthy structural health information is increased due to the creation of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). SHM allows for the prediction of forthcoming incidents as well as the evaluation of a structure’s useful life cycle. Data collection is the prime important for any SHM, tracking the location and data at any time is a constant issue. Thanks to advances in information technology and Internet of Things (IoT) to track data anytime, everywhere through internet. In this paper, a SHM stage with IoT is proposed to recognize the degree and area of harm in structures. A Raspberry Pi, a Wi-Fi module, a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC), an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), a cradle, and piezoelectric (PZT) sensors make up the recommended stage. The piezoelectric sensors are mounted on the bridge, by using proposed mathematical model the data can be analyzed for detection of magnitude and damage. The mathematical model is applied on raspberry pi, would provides the location of structural damage, if any, data is stored in the cloud through internet. This information will be saved and accessible through any mobile device. A genuine tested in the lab was used to validate the system.
