Abstract
Breast cancer is a rare condition in men. It represents approximately 1% of breast cancers worldwide. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic, and progressive aspects of male breast cancer. This is a report of 4 cases over 10 years. The average age of patients was 62 years. The average appointment time was 18 months. The reason for consultation was a breast mass in 3 patients and in 2 cases a budding ulcer mass. All patients were in good general condition. Pathological examination of the breast biopsy revealed infiltrating ductal carcinoma in all patients. It was cancer of the right breast in 2 cases, and of the left breast in one case; In one patient it was bilateral breast cancer. Ca 15-3 marker was elevated in all patients. All patients had a luminal A tumor. One patient had HIV1 retrovirosis under AntiRetroViral (ARV) treatment. All patients were metastatic at diagnosis. The treatment administered was hormonal therapy and palliative chemotherapy. Progression was noted in 2 patients and stability in one case. One patient died, one patient was lost to follow-up and the other two are being treated. Male breast cancer remains a rare disease. The treatment is roughly like female breast cancer; but it has a worse prognosis. Prospective studies would help refine treatment strategies.
