Abstract

The aim of breast augmentation has to be a simple approach to retromammary location, preserving the breast anatomy, inconspicuous scar, ideal implant, minimal complications, and high degree of patient satisfaction. This article reports the author's technique and experience with McGhan's Biodimensional™ Anatomical silicone implants. A total of 212 female patients underwent breast augmentation. Four hundred and twenty-four McGhan's biodimensional anatomical implants were placed in the subglandular space. The follow-up was between 3 months and 7 years. Eighty percent of the patients were performed as day cases under sedation and infiltration with Klein's solution. The objective criteria were the Baker's classification. One hundred percent of the patients had good result with either Baker type 1 or 2. Three patients had serous collection and one patient had wound breakdown, which subsequently healed on treatment. Our experience with McGhan's (McGhan Limited, Arklow, Ireland) Silicone Biodimensional prostheses shows minimal complication rate and high patient satisfaction with no extrusion rate.
