Abstract

Abstract Broccoli was directly seeded to plots (2 beds wide by 40 ft long) in Sep. Experimental design was a RCB with 7 treatments and 5 replicates. Applications were made with a tractor-mounted boom (one TX10 nozzle/row) at 60 psi and 30 gal total material/acre on 15, 22 and 29 Nov. Surveys of lepidopterous pests were conducted by counting small and large larvae of each species on 10 plants/plot. Marketable head surveys were conducted at plant maturity on 5 Jan ‘89 by examining 10 heads/plot and noting insect infested or damaged heads as non-marketable.
