Abstract
Abstract The use of smart actuators, in a modular braking system architecture, offers the possibility of simplifying central braking control and of developing versatile standard components applicable to braking systems in different families of aircraft. The SAMBA (Smart Actuator and Modular Braking Application) project has investigated these possibilities together with techniques for control of brake torque instead of brake pressure.
