Abstract

The impact of scholarly journals is of vast importance in the scientific community. This impact is particularly relevant in the Web of Science (WOS), fundamentally when any WOS database does not index this journal. This paper studies the visibility of BRAJIS on the WOS. The authors, institutions, and countries that cite any paper from this journal are analyzed. The authors and countries that have published in BRAJIS are also studied. The analysis shows that BRAJIS has a significant impact as a non-WOS journal cited in WOS. This impact is explained only 50% by Brazilian authors because the rest of them are foreigners. Spain is the most important foreign country for its visibility, contrary to what happens with the rest of LAC. Non-traditional countries' presence is significant: India, Nigeria, Malaysia, Iran, Ghana, etc. In this context, Asia is equivalent to the whole of Europe. The keywords and topics with the most visibility are also shown, among which bibliometrics and knowledge management stand out. It ends with specific recommendations for future action.
