Abstract

Several modifications of the high-resolution strain measurement method developed at NPI Ře — energy dispersive transmission diffraction (EDTD) — using Bragg diffraction optics are described. Bent perfect Si crystals are employed for selection (or analysis) of the quasi-monochromatic beam. This method, which is complementary to Bragg diffractionangle analysis provides sensitivity in lattice-spacing changes Δ d/d down to 10 −5, and may be used even at a mediumpower research reactor for reasonable sample volumes and counting times.
