Abstract

In this study, an analytical expression for the second virial coefficient of the Stockmayer potential obtained by us previously has been used to evaluate the Boyle temperature and Boyle volume. The analytical expression is used to obtain an accurate and precise evaluation of the Boyle temperature and Boyle volume for refrigeration gases. The accuracies of the Boyle temperature and Boyle volume results are tested by application to some refrigeration gases of R11, R12, R13, R20, R21, R22, R23, R30, R32, R40, R41, R115, R123, R124, R125, R134, R134a, R141b, R142b, R143a, R152a, and R160. The calculation results of the Boyle temperature have been compared with the results obtained from other equations of state. The computational results of the Boyle temperature are approximately in an agreement with the literature data.
