Abstract

We study the boundedness and persistence of the positive solutions of the nonautonomous Lyness equation and of the positive solutions of the nonautonomous Max equation with nonnegative coefficients and . Among other results, we find sufficient conditions to insure that every positive solution of the nonautonomous Lyness equation and every positive solution of the nonautonomous Max equation is bounded and persists. However, in contrast to the autonomous case, we find examples for the nonautonomous equations where these notions are independent of each other.
